These classes are very relaxed and a very nice social environment too (once you have booked your workshop I will send you the address).
ALL MATERIALS WILL BE PROVIDED, you just need to bring some small items.
Items to bring:
Lunch for the day class (coffee and biscuits will be provided).
Bring your old pencils that are lying around.
A putty rubber.
Some round brushes one small and one medium (used for blending with solvent if you choose to).
If you know what PanPastels are and you have some then bring them along too.
If you prefer working upright then please bring your own easel.
Complete beginners and intermediate members are welcome. The workshop term will take you through the process of using PanPastels much like you would use acrylic paints to paint a bird of your choice, the pencils will be an optional medium for detailing. You may bring along any bird reference you choose and I also have quite a few references available too. Here is one of my online YouTube videos if you would like an idea of what we will be doing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8h_AwbAPKU
We will be working big, you can choose to fill your entire sheet (30cm x 45cm UART 240 sanded paper) with one large bird or multiple birds. Please note only one sheet will be provided and if you require more you can purchase it through me for $10 per sheet. A minimum of 3 out of the 6 available workshop times should get you through the completion of one big painting so if you need more time you can attend the night sessions too. Once you are finished with your painting I will show you how you can cut a matt board frame for it and attach it to a foam backing and then place it in a large protective sleeve until you choose to frame it or simply varnish it. I will be guiding you through the entire process as much as I can and I guarantee you will have a lovely time.
